Manus emergency – help fund food

0 out of 5 based on 0 customer ratings

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

The detention centre on Manus Island has closed because the Papua New Guinea Supreme Court found it violated basic rights. But the refugees cannot leave since they have nowhere on the island to go where they can be safe. Now water and power have been cut off, and the refugees have no food. This is a humanitarian crisis.

The Australian government is doing nothing, so it’s up to us. We have to act now to avert a humanitarian disaster and get food and clean drinking water to the asylum seekers in the camp. The alternative is forcing them to move against their will into non-existent accommodation where they face attacks.

We will use the funds collected here to arrange food and water deliveries to the camp on Manus for the over 600 men who have no choice but to stay there. We are in touch with members of the Manus Alliance Against Human Rights Abuse, who will organise delivery on the ground. Food is expensive on Manus. We need your help.
